Description
The Cornish town of Falmouth is steeped in maritime history and heritage.
News of Admiral Nelsons death at Trafalgar first reached England here and Charles Darwins HMS Beagle anchored in Falmouth at the end of her second World voyage.
Falmouth is therefore a perfect location for the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and has been the starting point for the prestigious Magellan-Elcano 500 tall ships race 5 times. This race draws people and stunning tall ships from around the globe to race across the open ocean.
Our Falmouth tall ship print shows one of these majestic craft passing St Anthony’s Lighthouse on the eastern side of the entrance to Falmouth harbour, Cornwall, UK.
Unfortunately the Tall ships regatta of 2021 was cancelled due to the covid 19 pandemic. Hopefully Falmouth will greet these amazing vessels again soon. In the meantime perhaps one of our Falmouth Tall Ship range can remind you of their style and grace.
