Description
Our Boscastle coaster features Neils rendition of the picturesque harbour on the north Cornish coast.
The medieval harbour and village at Boscastle nestles in a steep sided valley. This natural harbour on the North Cornwall coastline was created by the confluence of Valency, Jordan and Paradise rivers.
Before the railways, Boscastle was a thriving port, serving much of North Cornwall. It has come to prominence recently as a result of the terrible floods of summer 2004.
The rivers Valency and Jordan famously burst their banks on 16th August 2004. For more information on the dramatic flood click here.
Boscastle is an excellent base for touring the surrounding area which includes moorlands, sheltered wooden valleys and coastal footpaths offering stunning views.
