Port Isaac has been a busy port since the middle ages and once handled a myriad of imports and exports from coal to pottery and everything in between, its name translated literally means ‘the corn port’. Today Port Isaac is a gorgeous place to visit and stroll amongst the historic buildings and peruse its perfect port.
If you have ever had the great pleasure of visiting picturesque Port Isaac at dusk you’ll know exactly where the inspiration for this design comes from. If you’re really lucky you might still catch one of the Fishermans Friends rare, impromptu performances on “the Platt”.
